Run your platform on European-owned cloud

Move workloads and AI calls off US hyperscalers to European providers such as Hetzner, OVHcloud, Scaleway, STACKIT or IONOS, without a risky big-bang cutover.

Overview

European buyers now ask harder questions in security questionnaires: who operates the infrastructure, which jurisdiction can compel access, and where model prompts are processed. A US-owned provider with an EU region does not always settle those questions, because the US CLOUD Act can still reach the parent company.

We plan and carry out the move to a European-owned provider, workload by workload. The work happens in your own EU accounts on Hetzner, OVHcloud, Scaleway, STACKIT or IONOS, so you hold the keys, the contracts and the data from day one. Where a managed service has no direct equivalent, we tell you plainly and propose the closest option.

Signs you need this

  • Prospects ask whether a US parent company can be compelled to hand over your data
  • Your architecture depends on services only one US hyperscaler offers
  • Customer prompts and documents go to a US AI API with no EU-hosted fallback
  • Nobody has listed which workloads could move and which would be hard

What you get

Portability assessment
Every workload and managed service mapped to a European equivalent, rated easy, moderate or hard, with the reason for each rating.
Target architecture
Network, compute, storage, identity and backup design on the chosen provider, written down and reviewed with your team before anything is built.
Provider-neutral infrastructure code
Terraform or OpenTofu modules for the new environment, kept in your repository so the setup can be rebuilt or moved again.
EU-hosted AI path
Open-weight models served in your EU account, or an EU-hosted model API, behind the same interface your application already calls.
Cutover runbooks
Step-by-step plans per workload with data sync, DNS changes, verification checks and a tested rollback.
Questionnaire answer pack
Factual descriptions of where data lives, who operates each layer and how access is controlled, ready for your sales and security teams.

How the work runs

  1. 1

    Inventory and provider choice

    2 to 3 weeks

List workloads, data stores and third-party calls. Compare providers on the services you actually use, regions, support terms and exit options.

  2. 2

    Foundation build

    2 to 4 weeks

Build accounts, networking, Kubernetes or VMs, object storage, secrets and backups in your EU tenancy using code.

  3. 3

    Workload moves

    4 to 12 weeks

Move stateless services first, then databases with replication, then AI workloads. Each move has its own cutover window and rollback.

  4. 4

    Decommission and handover

    1 to 3 weeks

Shut down the old resources once traffic and data are confirmed, then walk your team through operating the new setup.

Timings depend on the size of your estate. The assessment fixes them before any build starts.

What you can check afterwards

  • Production workloads run in EU accounts held in your company's name
  • No customer data or prompts leave for a US-owned API in normal operation
  • The new environment can be rebuilt from code in your repository
  • Your security questionnaire answers match what is actually deployed

Questions buyers ask

Do we have to move everything at once?
No. We move workload by workload and many companies keep a hybrid setup for months. Some keep a US hyperscaler for non-sensitive work and move only customer data and AI processing.
Will we lose managed services we rely on?
Some, yes. The assessment names each gap and the replacement, which may be a provider's managed service, a self-hosted open source tool, or keeping that piece where it is.
Is this a legal opinion on GDPR or the CLOUD Act?
No. We are engineers, not lawyers. We describe the technical facts clearly so your counsel or DPO can reach their own view.
What access do you need?
Admin access to the new EU accounts, read access to the current cloud, and access to your code repositories. We work in your accounts, never in ours.
