See what your systems are doing, in one place

Metrics, logs and traces on an open-source stack built on OpenTelemetry, with dashboards and alerts designed so engineers can find a fault quickly.

Overview

Many teams have logs in one tool, metrics in another and no traces at all. When something breaks, the first half hour goes on finding the right screen. A single observability platform, fed by OpenTelemetry, lets an engineer move from an alert to the slow request to the log line that explains it.

We build on open-source components you can run in your own cloud accounts: Prometheus or Mimir for metrics, Loki for logs, Tempo for traces and Grafana on top. If you already pay for a commercial tool, we can instrument for that instead. Either way, alert design is part of the job, not an afterthought.

Signs you need this

  • Finding the cause of an incident means searching three tools by hand
  • You cannot trace one user request across your services
  • Dashboards exist but nobody trusts or uses them
  • Log storage costs keep rising and nobody knows which services produce the volume

What you get

Telemetry pipeline
OpenTelemetry Collectors deployed and configured to receive, filter and route metrics, logs and traces.
Storage back ends
Prometheus or Mimir, Loki and Tempo deployed with retention settings and object storage sized to your volume.
Application instrumentation
Auto-instrumentation for your main languages and a worked example of custom spans and metrics your developers can copy.
Service dashboards
A standard Grafana dashboard per service covering request rate, errors and latency, linked to its traces and logs.
Alert rules
A starter set of symptom-based alerts with owners and runbook links, routed to the right channel.

How the work runs

  1. 1

    Current state review

    1 week

List existing tools, data volumes, retention needs and the questions engineers struggle to answer today.

  2. 2

    Platform build

    2 to 4 weeks

Deploy collectors and storage back ends with infrastructure code, and set up access control and retention.

  3. 3

    Instrumentation

    2 to 3 weeks

Instrument priority services, connect traces to logs, and build the first dashboards with your developers.

  4. 4

    Alerting and handover

    1 to 2 weeks

Write alert rules, retire the old ones you no longer need, and train the team on day-to-day use.

Timings depend on the size of your estate. The assessment fixes them before any build starts.

What you can check afterwards

  • An engineer can open a slow request trace and jump to the matching logs in one click
  • Every production service has a standard dashboard and an owner
  • Telemetry data is stored in your own accounts with retention you set
  • Alert rules are in Git, reviewed like code and linked to runbooks

Questions buyers ask

Should we self-host or keep our commercial tool?
It depends on your data volume, team size and residency needs. We compare the running cost and effort of both honestly before building anything.
Will instrumentation slow our applications down?
OpenTelemetry overhead is low for most workloads, and we use sampling for high-volume traces. We measure the effect on one service before rolling out widely.
What access do you need?
A role in your cloud accounts to deploy the platform, access to your Kubernetes clusters, and a developer from each team to pair with on instrumentation.
Who runs the platform afterwards?
Your team. We hand over the code, upgrade notes and a short operating guide. If you would rather not run it, we can talk about managed operations.
